    A world beyond borders

    "God is in the details", wrote Jude yesterday. That helps me on a day when I have had to become Mister DIY Man. It's not a role I'm used to, it removes me from Borders (a familiar Monday haunt) and takes me into a big shed called Homecare, a whole new world where the details are different...

    in a world beyond borders
    i touch metal, wood and glass
    scrutinising surfaces
    tracing textures
    measuring up

    i'm lost
    once past lighting
    on an aisle of coving
    surrounded by skirting
    heading for laminates

    its a sharp world
    beyond borders
    edges unsmoothed
    fixes quickened
    prices reversed
